This course covers the importance of assessing balance using cognitive tests to assist in identifying the driver of any musculoskeletal pain. The fun skills, drills and exercises you will learn are easy to do and are excellent to integrate into your current rehab and exercise programmes. Clients will be keen to do their exercises regularly, show you that they have, and enjoy having a way of measuring and knowing that they are improving.
The exercises and skills learnt in this course are suitable for clients of any fitness clevel.
You will learn how to:
- Use the VOR (vestibular ocular reflex) and COR (cervical ocular reflex) to assess balance
- Utilise balance exercises to recruit deep cervical and lumbar stabilising muscles
- Progress from very easy tasks suitable for any injury or fitness level to intermediate level
- Integrate cognitive skills and drills to improve functional movements and to accelerate injury recovery
- Use balance skills and drills for a dynamic approach for treating back pain, including a locked back
- Use cognitive skills in all your assessments to identify the driver of pain.

This course is ideal for any Physio who treats sports, musculoskeletal, neuro or paediatric clients. You will broaden your repertoire of rehab skills and can easily integrate what you learn into your current exercise regimes.
